Built by Abbot Philip de Lévis and modelled* on the clocktower of Mirepoix Cathedral, the tower of the Abbey has remained unfinished since 1537. It is the most imposing monument on the site, visible from a great distance.
Objective and approximate cost:
- Provision of a temporary covering, to shelter the tower from bad weather (€150,000).
- Restoration of the collapsed vaults and intermediate floors (€250,000).
- Repair of the masonry at the top of the walls, replacement and improvement of the cut stones, consolidation of all the sculptures and repointing.
